===Elemental Type===

An [[SRD:Elemental|elemental]] is a being composed of one of the four classical elements: air, earth, fire, or water.

======Features======

An [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] has the following features.

* 8-sided [[SRD:Hit Dice (Creature Statistic)|Hit Dice]].
* [[SRD:Base Attack Bonus|Base attack bonus]] equal to 3/4 total [[SRD:Hit Dice (Creature Statistic)|Hit Dice]] (as [[SRD:Cleric|cleric]]).
* Good saves depend on the element: [[SRD:Saving Throw|Fortitude]] (earth, water) or [[SRD:Saving Throw|Reflex]] (air, fire).
* [[SRD:Skill Descriptions|Skill points]] equal to (2 + [[SRD:Intelligence|Int]] modifier, minimum 1) per [[SRD:Hit Dice (Creature Statistic)|Hit Die]], with quadruple [[SRD:Skill Points|skill points]] for the first [[SRD:Hit Dice (Creature Statistic)|Hit Die]].

======Traits======

An [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] possesses the following traits (unless otherwise noted in a creature’s entry).

* [[SRD:Darkvision|Darkvision]] out to 60 feet.
* Immunity to [[SRD:Poison|poison]], [[SRD:Sleep Effect|sleep effects]], [[SRD:Paralyzed|paralysis]], and [[SRD:Stunned|stunning]].
* Not subject to [[SRD:Standard Actions#Critical Hits|critical hits]] or [[SRD:Flanking|flanking]].
* Unlike most other living creatures, an [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] does not have a dual nature—its soul and body form one unit. When an [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]] is slain, no soul is set loose. Spells that restore souls to their bodies, such as ''[[SRD:Raise Dead|raise dead]], [[SRD:Reincarnate|reincarnate]], ''and ''[[SRD:Resurrection|resurrection]], ''don’t work on an [[SRD:Elemental Type|elemental]]. It takes a different magical effect, such as ''[[SRD:Limited Wish|limited wish]], [[SRD:Wish|wish]], [[SRD:Miracle|miracle]], ''or ''[[SRD:True Resurrection|true resurrection]], ''to restore it to life.
* Proficient with [[SRD:Natural Weapons|natural weapons]] only, unless generally [[SRD:Humanoid Type|humanoid]] in form, in which case proficient with all [[SRD:Simple Weapon|simple weapons]] and any weapons mentioned in its entry.
* Proficient with whatever type of [[SRD:Armor|armor]] ([[SRD:Light Armor|light]], [[SRD:Medium Armor|medium]], or [[SRD:Heavy Armor|heavy]]) that it is described as wearing, as well as all lighter types. [[SRD:Elemental Type|Elementals]] not indicated as wearing armor are not proficient with armor. [[SRD:Elemental Type|Elementals]] are proficient with shields if they are proficient with any form of armor.
* [[SRD:Elemental Type|Elementals]] do not eat, sleep, or breathe.
